Merit can do #9

On Thursdays I had PALs and Anneke and I ran hoops and stilts with the kakano kids. all the kids were sharing the stills so the activity went well. While I was running this I showed the learner qualities of integrity. I showed integrity by being fair and letting them all have a go since there were lots of them and there wasn't enough hoops or stilts for all of them.

My information report

The water cycle

The water cycle is a process when water goes through the land, sea and the atmosphere. The water is recycled throughout the process so that means we have no new water, there are four steps in the water cycle eg: evaporation, condensation, precipitation and groundwater/runoff. Water through the process changes state nearly every step of the way from liquid to a gas {Water Vapor} to a solid and back again.

One important step in the water cycle is Evaporation. Evaporation is an invisible process where the sun heats up the water, in oceans, lakes and rivers and the water then turns into a gas which we know as vapour. Vapor in the air is called humidity. In some hot places, there is a high amount of humidity. The process of evaporation is faster on hot days because the sun heats up the water quicker therefore, it turns into vapour at a greater rate. After the water turns into a gas and it floats up to the atmosphere, it forms into clouds which is called Condensation.

Condensation is the clouds in the sky, when the clouds get too heavy precipitation takes over and makes it rain, snow, hail or sleet. Invisible water vapor is in the air of every place in the world, but it's invisible. Condensation happens because of the different temperature in the atmosphere. The amount of precipitation that falls is different all around the world. after the gas from condensation and the water from precipitation goes down it becomes ground-water/runoff.

Runoff is nothing more than water running off the land surface going into the lakes and rivers. Even though some rainfall soaks into the ground most flows over. Runoff is also important because as it flows some water goes into the ground and recharges the plants and grass. Some of the water from precipitation goes into the ground and that's what humans drink.

The water cycle is one of the most important cycle in the world. This cycle helps us grow crops to keep us living.

Merit can do #8

PALs
last week I was a PAL with anneke and ran an activity for the kakano with moon hoppers during the second half of lunch. We handed out pozi's to the little kids that tried hard and didn't give up which was most of them. While I was running the activity I showed the learner qualities of integrity. Integrity by being fair and making sure they all got an even amount of time on the moon hoppers.

My CARE Progress

I have done a check of my CARE progress so far this year.

I am proud of my progress
because I have got my BRONZE already and it normally takes me longer than this.

How far away are you from reaching your BRONZE?
I have just completed my BRONZE.

The area of CARE that I need to try harder in C / A / R / E
because I need to keep on going and never give up in my learning

To achieve my BRONZE/SILVER award quicker I need to
follow all the CARE values all the time.

The one thing that I can do to improve my progress in CARE is
to follow all the CARE values all the time.
